update

well i have been back to work for a few weeks now. it is going ok so far. i get really tired all the time but i kind of like to get out of the house. blade is doing ok in daycare. after working through a few kinks we are starting to feel ok about the daycare too.
blade is getting so big. he rolled over on monday for the first time. i was so excited. i cant believe he is growing so fast. we have to go to the doctor in two weeks to get shots again.
we are also taking blade to PCB at the beginning of sept. not sure if this is a good idea or not. i guess we will just have to find out the hard way.

Here are some new pics for everyone to check out. Blade is 11 weeks old now. He is getting so big. I have to go back to work on the 27th of this month. I am kind of excited to go back but nervous at the same time. We are going to have to put Blade in daycare. We really didn't want to but we have no other choice. Nothing else was going to work out for us. We have checked every option that we could think of. Well hopefully he will do okay at the daycare. I am really worried about it.
Some of the pics are from a visit with my nephew Blake, he just adores Blade so much. He always wants to hold him and play with him. They are so cute together.
We also went and got Blade a bumbo seat recently. He can't get it just yet but he is almost strong enough to sit in it by himself. Blade is now (as of last night) sleeping in his crib instead of the bassinet. So far so good. He is still having trouble with sleeping at night. I believe part of the problem is his GI issues. He has gas so bad that it wakes him up and he don't know how to go to sleep on his own so I have to get up and feed him or get him back to sleep. It really sucks but we have some new medicine now that we just started yesterday so maybe it will help.

2 months old

blade turned 2 mos old on june 30th. he is doing so much better. me and rob are getting better at this parenting thing. blade can hold his head up pretty good now. he still has not managed to really suck his thumb but at least now he can get it in his mouth. he loves to lick his hands and anything else tat comes close to his mouth. he just lies there and licks the blanket during tummy time. he is smiling really good now and making more sounds than just crying. we are enjoying our time together. we spent the 4th of july at guntersville with rob's parents and had a blast. we even watched the fireworks on the lake. blade did such a good job. he slept in the car all the way there. it was his longest trip. we had so much fun.

Update

Well things are starting to feel a little more normal around here the last few days. I am still very sleepy and some days are better than others but we are making it. Thank the Lord that I have decided to take twelve weeks off work. I can not imagine going back to work right now. If I was only going to take off six weeks I would be going back to work on monday. I just dont think that I could do it. I am not ready. I can't believe it has already been six weeks though. Time goes by so fast. Blade weighed 8.6 pounds when he went to the doctor on tuesday. He is growing so fast. We are starting to get into a better routine. Now I just have to figure out what to do with him when I do go back to work. Right now we don't have a babysitter and may have to consider daycare. I really don't won't to. I don't really care for daycare but we may not have a choice. Well just as I sit down to do this of course the baby starts crying. More later.

May 30th

On May 30th my little man turned one month old. He is such a blessing in my life.

thrush

well just when one thing starts going right something else goes wrong. The diaper rash is finally starting to heal up but now he has thrush. We will most likely be making yet another trip to the doctor today. It seems as though I can not do anything right. Also there is something else that just perplexes me. For some reason he does not seem to be getting satisfied when he nurses but if we give him a bottle of the same breastmilk then he is calm and satisfied for alot longer. However, this just doesn't make any sense to me. He will nurse for 45 min to an hour and then be screaming again in an hour to hour and half but after a bottle he will sleep for 2-3 hours. I am open to any suggestions please!!! i just don't know what to do.

Life wih baby

Life is great and frustrating at the same time. It is so hard to have a brand new baby. No one can ever be prepared. Everybody always talks about how if you wait until you are financially ready for a baby then you will never have one. Well I think that if you waited until you were emotionally ready for a baby then you would never have one. All we do right now is breastfeed, poop, and cry and maybe sometimes if lucky sleep. But it is the most wonderful thing I could ever do as a woman. It is amazing to look into his eyes and just see pure innocence. Overall things are going pretty good I guess. We are still fighting a bad diaper rash. Thanks for all the advice but it is still bad two prescriptions later. We have tried everything. The med we are trying now is not even working. We thought for sure that this one would work considering it is so expensive. Thank the good lord for insurance or we would have had to pay 300 dollars for this med that isn't working. I just don't know what to do. It frustrates me so bad. Anyhow that is enough for now.

BABY

My blogs are going to be few and far between apparently. I have a very hungry baby and barely even have time for a shower. Anyhow, things are going pretty good. We are very tired all the time of course. Blade had his two week doctor visit yesterday and he has already gained 5 ounces from his birth weight. Everything checked out just fine. We are struggling though with diaper rash on his bottom because he is a poop machine. So if anybody has any advice for that let me know. Well he is crying upstairs right now so I better go.

BABY BLADE

This is gonna be a quick one. Not much time on my hands these days and someone eats like a barracuda. Well Blade was born April 30 at 1349. He weighed 6.5pounds and was 19.5inches long. Oh so tiny. None of his clothes fit him. I am thinking that we might need a few premie outfits for him until he grows some. We of course are home now. The days have been very good and the nights are kind of bad but hopefully getting better. We have had a lot of help. We greatly appreciate it all. Thanks to Kara we have enjoyed not having to cook a few meals. Well like I said someone likes to eat so I have to go now. I will follow up shortly with hopefully a better blog. Just wanted to get a little info out to everyone and a pic. Thanks for everyone's help with everything!!!

Hope for Progress

Well needless to say. I am getting very anxious and ready for Blade to make his grand appearance. I am 38weeks and 4days today. I have a feeling that it is going to be a while longer. But we can all hope for progress right? Anyhow, I go to the doctor on Thursday so I hope for something new. Everytime I go to the doctor it is the same thing over and over again. Nothing new. I will post again after my appointment. I am hoping to be able to give everyone some different news besides just saying "nothing has changed."

Welcome!!

Hello!! Welcome to my world. I am about to become a mom. My first child (a little boy) will be here soon enough. I think we are pretty much as ready as new parents can be for this new adventure! Although I am extremely exhausted. It has taken a lot of time to get everything ready for the baby. We can't wait for him to get here. I just want to see him. I am so interested in finding out what he looks like.

On a side note. I just want to tell Mandy/Kara/Courtney/Jennifer thanks for helping me do this blog thing. Special thanks to Mandy. She did most of the work for me and even took the picture that is on my page!!!

Well that's all I have for now. Things will hopefully get more interesting after baby Blade is finally here. His due date is approaching soon!! May 8th!!!!
